I've finished updating vBulletin from version 3.54 to 3.65. There isn't any really noticeable changes to the forums but there are a few small tweaks. The update mostly fixed any security problems we had present before.
I've fixed some small problems the update caused but if anyone else notices any more problems please notify me here. :) I just noticed that the posts slightly overlap the border to the right. I'll get onto fixing that now.
Now I've updated the forums I can get onto adding the mods you guys gave me feedback on. I'll try and do some work on that tomorrow.
Oh also the Firefox spell checker now works on the forums thanks to the upgrade :P
Okay, get back to posting!
EDIT: Just noticed the go to last post button doesn't go to last post :P I'll fix it in the morning.

So basically, what you mean by the security updates, you want have all these bots that make threads like: "free porn" "buy a pills!!!" etc. ?
(Go to FFXII.net you'll find out what I mean)

No, things like some parts of the site were open to hacking. :P

Yep like Dante said it's just to fix existing bugs. It's not easy to stop persistent spambots but they usually give up if you turn on image verification and email verification. We've never had a spambot problem here before but there are mods which can help stop them.

Okay everything about the upgrade seems to be sorted out. I would have posted this earlier but I've been double checking all of the features and mods we have installed to see if they're still functioning properly. The only tiny problem I can see now is the thread appearing off centre and over the border to the right. It doesn't look as bad in Internet Explorer but its still something that has to be fixed.
Oh another tiny mod I added that won't affect any of our existing members is an AJAX registration feature which checks to see if a username is in-use or not after you type it in. It also checks the emails and passwords are both valid and identical. It's a pretty cool feature that InvisionPower boards has but vBulletin doesn't...and now thanks to hacks, it does!
The mods we discussed in the other thread are going to have to be put on hold because many of them have become unsupported by their creators over the past few months :P There are two reliable Shop and Gil mods, one which isn't supported by our new version and is discontinued and the other which has a security flaw and seems to have been taken offline indefinitely. I think the best thing to do is to wait for either of these mods to be revived or wait for a new reliable mod to become available. I'd rather wait than rush into using something buggy and unsuitable. :)
Just thought I'd give you all a small update on things. :)

Thanks Kitmitsu! :) I was having some minor problems, but I think everything seems fine now. :P The terms seem kind of confusing, but it sounds like everything's going along well o_O :D
I know this might be trivial, but is it possible to make it so that the scroll bar extends when a large image exceeds the viewing board? I hope that makes sense. For example, usually when an image is too large, it's automatically shrunken to fit the viewing board's width. Pressing on it reveals its original width, but also prevents me from seeing the rest of the right side as the window doesn't allow enough scroll width.
...or maybe there's already a way to supercede that... >_> I'm terrible in terms of observation skills when it comes to computers and anything related to computers in general...

We have to wait for one the people who made the Shop mod to update it :/ They seem to have disappeared though so it's unlikely. If someone else makes a decent shop mod we can use that.
