FFX Movie?

According to French cinema site, Cinegenre.net, Square Enix is planning on venturing yet again into the cinema scene with a new story from the Final Fantasy X universe...

Kazushige Nojima, scenario writer for Final Fantasy VII, X, and Advent Children, is currently writing the scenario for the film. The film itself will be based around our hero Tidus and looks to be set in the same time zone as Final Fantasy X all the way to the end of Final Fantasy X-2. However it could also be based on the pre-Sin events but that has not been confirmed. All we do know of is that it is based on Tidus' history.

Well i think now they know they can succesfully make a film (unlike Spirits Within) they'll probably give it a try again. I'm not sure if it would be as good as Advent Children though mainly because we already know what the characters look like in fairly good graphics as the game wasn't that long ago. I think it will look a bit weird seeing them again in alot better graphics.

I'd be interested to see how it would turn out though but maybe they should try making a film that isnt a sequal to a game but not as bad as Spirits within which had very little relevence to the series at all <_<

Do you think they're lying or do you think that their just misinformed... or for that matter do you think that their telling the truth. It's hard to decide which for me. It sounds pretty credible, but, I constantly see things like this on the internet. Video game movie rumors are always floating around so it's hard for me to believe it. Although it sounds pretty true.

Hmmm... I dont like the idea personally. Sounds like more fan service to me... I liked FFX but like Kitmitsu said, it wouldnt be the same shock as AC. CLOUD HAD A MOUTH OMFG, that was impressive. :p

The movie being of the course of the game to...doesnt sound too interesting, as ive played that game through about 10 times. :P

I didn't really like FFX so i don't see me actually liking a movie about it. Japan seems to love the game though so they have more say then me. I just don't feel the source material being that strong. Compare a Darth Vadar/non existence storyline(FFX) to a group of terrorist hippies(FF7). You can see which is more interesting from those simple facts. But it all comes down to 'would i buy it?' and the answer sadly is 'yes'.

Oh it's not that bad. I loved the story. For me Yuna saved that game, oh Riku as well, two HOT!! girls to drool over while i'm playing really got me to like X-2. Plus I was glad that the story got to continue. I hate endings but it would also be bad if something went on forever... I can't win.>_<

I remember spirits within. And I was like "this" small and quite interested in animated movies. So from Toy Story to that is quite a blow for small kids heads. But I don’t remember anything from it. :P

FFx movie?.... NO. Nope. NO. NO. Noone wants it, noone need it!

Is it so that the animators are desperate to do something so they have to make movies when they are done with the games? At least take something it is possible to make a good script with.

Boy is a dream and vanquish.

Girlfriend revisits all places.
Girlfriend goes through lot of crap to get 100%
Girlfriend reunite with Boy.

I think it would be cool to see a ffx movie, but I wouldn't like it to just be based around tidus; Since the game is based on both tidus and yuna,:) I would prefer the movie to be based around both of them. Maybe many things are based around tidus, but hey, they are the same around yuna right;:s summoner, final summoning.. sin, braska... I don't think the movie would be very good when everything is based around tidus... I had another idea though, that they maybe would do a movie of the whole ffx story; and yeah as mentioned before... I don't really trust sites and rumours every time they come with new information.. there has been times when I have become disappointed because of their talking...

A ffx movie... no. Just no. There wasnt enough room for FFX-2, so im not sure how this will be able to fit in with the compilation.

It is arguable, however, that when you talk about square-enix, anything is possible.

There isnt really anything else they can add to the story. It was a great game but as you said there isnt any place in the story for a film to take place. They should concentrate on newer material however much we like seeing old game characters in CG.

I think it won't be any good. It would be just like making a good book that you have read several times and you know everything about into a movie. So many little details are lost and half of the story will be twisted a bit so at the end you hate the movie.
Maybe if the action was set before or after the games but "This is my story" in 1,5 hours again doesn't seam interesting at all. Just a simple way to avoid long hours of playing the game itself .

About the movie... It would be good, but seriously, the game itself was sorta like a movie anyway, seeing that there's always a bunch of animations popping up here and there all the time

I would like to see the concept, FFX in my opinion had the best story of any FF so far. Lets just say if they released a FFX movie I'd definitely give it a go.
