As i predicted this is not a good film. Its an un-neccesary sequel which just shits out more of the over-used Shrek shite.
The Writers seem to have decided that the audience have had enough of Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots and decided to cram as many other fantasy characters into the film and make them "comedic" In the other films they may have added about 3 or 4 other side-characters to the story to spice it up. But in these they seem to have added about 50-100 new characters. The charm from the other 2 shrek films (mainly Shrek and co kicking arse using strange methods i.e. the competition to rescue Fiona and Puss in shrek 2) is also gone. Any point in this film (apart from one very boring fight scene) when shrek is confronted with men in armor he backs down and simply gives in.
WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!
Shrek in Shrek 1 kicked ass in that competition he surely could kick some ass in this film (he doesn't and is later held to the floor by...one chain which by the way he manages he breaks....ages after he's chained to it)
you would expect most of the laughs to come from the main character but because the writers have changed him from a selfish nasty orge to some twat who can't put up a fight and moans alot, the laughs come from lesser-characters. Like the ginger-bread man and the frog-king. Also the fighting skills from Fiona are nowhere to be seen...oh and her friends gain the power to call animals from the forest to attack walking trees.
SPOILERS BUT READ IT IF U WANT 1 GOOD REASON ON WHY U SHOULDN'T WASTE MONEY ON THIS FILM.
Everyone gets captured...the queen shows she has some fighting skill, breaks down a wall with her head...twice. They go try and rescue Shrek, they get to where he is...then get caught again...thus elinating the point of the rescue. The film ends with Arthur telling the villains they don't have to be evil because society thinks they are evil. The villains agree. the end.
