Its supposed to be a paper-thin TV. Imagine walking down the street with a TV on your wrist?

Oh, I've heard of something like this but it's not a TV, more like a display that's 0.3 mm thick and displays 16.7 million colours. I only know that cause I was researching current news for a speech on Japan in Social Studies. xD

Link messed up Ragnarok :P When in doubt, click Insert Link. It always works that way.

Sounds pretty interesting. Wait wouldn't it blow over really easily? or get blown away? I'd hate to see my TV fly out the window.

Siemens did it first: http://www.unmediated.org/archives/2005/10/paperthin_tv_sc.php

Sony's:

Samsung are developing one, their really behind on it tho. They only cost about 50$ to make.

The technology is called OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode). a 42" mammoth has been made, but its "only" a couple of inches. Also, this year some smaller OLED's was shown on CeBit. The technology is a couple of years old by now and OLED's so thin you can bend them is pretty old news...

I thought they were called organic LEDs xD

Yeah, but Sony was the first to come up with one with so many colours. Samsung and LG did it before but with colours in the thousands while Sony's is in the millions.

:nag::nag::nag::nag::nag::nag::nag::nag::nag:

Our class had to do a project where you invent your own product. My friends= did a milk and crouton making mechanical cow. I did a paper thin TV, called Paper_TV (WOW!)

Then, right after I had the idea and made an ad already, HEY, SONY JUST INVENTED IT!!!! And one of the criteria was that it has to be an original product. The ironic thing is, my company was a parody of Sony called Dony. :nag::nag::nag::nag::nag:

I'm really pissed. Sony ruined my project!

Oh yeah! The ad about the all-in-one torture and murder device! It's like a box that you can fill with spikes, gas, etc, etc to kill people. Remember after their presentation Karl's like "Is this legal?" That was hilarious. :lol:
