Me and Dante are playing FFVIII again and we went to Ultimecia's castle and overwrote the save on the world map. We thought we couldn't get back (though he remembered getting back years ago) so we started killing the bosses and then we found out there were gates where that chain is. We used the Chocobo to get the Raganrok back but obviously, all the towns are surround by a barrier because of Time Compression. Is there any shops that we can still use which aren't in towns because we need to get the Lionheart. -_-

Sorry, but I don't think that you can. :/

That was a flaw that should have been fixed. >.<

You can't get back into any of the towns, but like Desi says you can use GF Tonberry's Call Junk Shop ability.

From a FAQ on Gamefaqs:

Q. Can I get into the cities during Disc 4?
A: There is no way that you can get into the cities in Disc 4. Those
barriers do not allow you to make contact with the city. I know
the following question will definitely pop up if this happens...
* how do I remodel my weapons? - you can remodel your weapons by
using GF Tonberry's Call Shop or Call Junk Shop menu ability via
the Ability menu.

If you haven't got GF Tonberry you can get him from the Centra Ruins (which I believe you can still access on Disc 4). You have to fight about 20 regular tonberry's, after which the GF Tonberry will appear - defeat him and he will join you.

YES! Thanks Desi! Now all we need is Tonberry King. The only one we haven't got other than Eden and Doom Train yet. I wouldn't really call the towns being closed off a flaw because past, present and future has been molded together and everyone should be dead. Actually being able to go back to normal time is a flaw in itself though :P

EDIT: Thanks Flint :) It's gonna be hell killing all those Tonberrys :/ Level 85 should be good enough though.

The easiest way to get Eden is to draw him from Tiamat in Ultimecia's castle, which saves having to go through all the trouble of battling through the Deep Sea Research Centre.

This is the list of the GF's you can draw from the bosses in Ultimecia's castle:

Siren - Tri Point
Leviathan - Trauma
Pandemona - Red Giant
Carbuncle - Krysta
Cerberus - Gargantua
Alexander - Catoblepas
Eden - Tiamat

Sadly you can't draw Tonberry or Doomtrain, so you still have to go the long way around to get them. And watch out, because if I remember correctly Tonberry can be very tricky to defeat!

Thanks Desi. :P I played it about 5 years ago so I couldnt remember much. xD

Getting Tonberry king shouldnt be too hard with these people. Might need some Island closest to hell training though. :P

Yeah I noticed you could draw GF's from the bosses and I knew Eden was one of them :P I didn't know you could get Eden at the Deep Sea Research Centre though :S I thought only Bahamut was there, and those annoying Red Dragons.

Yeah, there's more to the Deep Sea Research Centre than just Bahamut and those dragons!

After you defeat Bahamut you can continue to descend the floors of the Deep Sea Research Centre, fighting lots enemies and solving some annoying puzzles along the way. If you make your way to the bottom floor you will find the boss monster Ultima Weapon, who is pretty tough, and you can draw Eden from him during the battle.

Seeing as you're already at the end of the game and can just draw Eden from Tiamat there's no real need to go back to the Deep Sea Research Centre, unless you're going for full completion and want to defeat every boss and see everything in the game.:)

Ruby Dragons are game breaking. "You spotted Ruby Dragon, it uses Nova: 9999 all characters, game over." Spaming level down makes it harder to draw meltdown though.

LOL, Meltdowns are rare to come by. Somehow I got 100 of them from a monster in Esthar. XP

If you mug flans you sometimes get Mystery Fluid which can be refined into Meltdown. :cunning:
