Well, We all know that God is coming back someday, but the question is when. It could be a million years from now or as soon as I finish typing this post. But its for certain that he'll be back someday. When do you think he'll return? In my opinion, I dont think he'll come back in our lifetime. I think I'll be dead and long gone before he comes back, but thats just my opinion.
Discussion starts now.

Well, I dunno if it will be in my lifetime, but I think that the rapture will happen before the year 3000.

Since God is supposedly omnipotent, he isn't restricted by time. He doesn't have to pick a particular period in coherent time to come. It could've already happened, but at the same time never will. Or, it could never happen, but already did. Like, God could've already come and lead us to salvation, but being restrained by time, we aren't aware he's here, or that we have already been saved. Like umm, our time can't catch up to God's, or maybe "we" as a errrr.... whole have already been lead to salvation but "we" as in our awareness has yet to catch up. Dammit this shit is hard to explain.

That was funny but this is the serious forum. :cunning:

Er.
Assuming God's existence, it's due to happen any time relatively soon according to Bible prophecies, which pointed out things like food shortages, pestilences, war, intense and many earthquakes, and many immoral people. Um, I think we're due for the end of the world as we know it any time soon.
And Jason, if God were omnipotent, I'm sure he could arrange it so that he would save us effectively. Otherwise, there's not too much point.

Yeah. But maybe He's so powerful that He can't become less powerful.
God is a paradox. If He is omnipotent could he create a being greater than Himself?

Technically, I do not think that God can become any greater than he is, and why the Hell would he make something tat is stronger than himself? That is, if thats possible.

I do not believe in the "God" of pretty much any religion but I do believe that there is a greater force out there doing something even if it isn't much...Now the being that you speak of has been here and has left and has comeback before. But now I don't believe it personally will come back but maybe send something as a way to help fix things. "It" could very well be angry with what we have done with the planet and with ourselves and may be just to disgusted to do anything to help us. "It" has favored the human race to long and all we have done is screwd things up for ourselves...
It is similar to the last episode of Stargate SG-1 If you watch it it will make sense but maybe it will make sense if you don't...The most intellegent race of beings known as the Asgard were far superior to you and I but I believe the represent us. They made there life so perfect that things were bound to screw up and the only way to fix it was with extinction. If "it" does come back will be long after the human race is extinct...

This is something no one can ever know. Jesus doesn't even know the date. Only God knows when the world will come to its end. Its almost not even worth stretching your mind over. I guess....keep living to the best of your ability....and pray that you remained saved when the time comes. Good thread though:D

I love you.
So when is God supposed to come back? When the world ends? But what if humans miraculously save themselves? Then God wouldn't need to come back... And lotsa people would stop believing in god.

Rev-sQ You're theory is...... interesting. What I know is that people have predicted the end of the world for centuries. I personally choose to not worry about when it happens and just focus on my life and if it happens I'm a Christian so I've got nothing to worry about it. Trying to predict it is not worth the time effort or worry that it'll bring.

Yeah according to several religions the world has already ended.

^Er, what?^
We Muslims believe Judgement day will happen Judgment day starts 30 years before the end of the earth. Cool, huh. Unfortunately, God decided not to tell when the end of the world will be. He did tell us, though, that Judgement day will be on a Friday.

Where did it say that the world would end on a friday ?

Erm, I'm not sure. Well obviously it's somewhere in the Quran. I was told that Judgement day would be on a Friday by a Hafisab.

This is has got to be one the most hypocritical post. I don't know your so called God is coming back, because he doesn't exist, he won't come back. You tell people to not be ignorant, when in fact your first sentence is quite that.

Lol. You missed the whole point, Demon Eyes. This topic is about discussing when God will come back. If you don't believe in God then you can't possibly participate in this topic. How can something not come back if he doesn't exist. He has to exist in order to not come back, first. Get it, now? His first sentence is not ignorant.

Isn't that what Kira said not to do? Unless I'm totally reading this wrong, you just said God doesn't exist, but that's what you believe. Don't make a general statement like that. 'Cause I believe God exists and I believe Jesus is coming back a second time.

Kira's a guy. :|
Yes I knew that. But You said it as a generic statement like he did. It would have been better for him to say "I believe God is coming back someday." instead of "We all know God is coming back someday." But then you said that "God doesn't exist." That's a generic statement like what Kira said. "I believe God doesn't exist." would have been better. But I'm not here to judge or correct someone when I know I've probably done the exact same thing.....so I'll shut up now.

God will come back??What do you mean comeback? He is always with you!!You guys mean... Jesus? He will reborn somewhere in the East. If you people have been reading the Bible I think you would know. Anyway... He said that the Judgement day is coming. I'm assuming that the day he comes... will be the Judgement day.

Have you even read Revelations? (Sorry if I sound a bit testy today. I haven't had a good one.) Jesus is always with us. But don't take it literally. When you ask Jesus to become the King of your heart when you become a Christian, he comes into you, like the Holy Spirit. It's real difficult to explain with words...The Second Coming is when Jesus raptures his church and takes them to Heaven. Then after the antichrist makes a seven-year peace treaty with Israel, thus begins the Seven Year Tribulation.

You don't understand the Trinity do you? God is God. Jesus is God in the form of a human. The Holy Spirit is God in the form of the Spirit.

i had a dream of the rapture, it was early morning and i joined a bunch of people on a pier looking out to sea. the sky was a beautiful golden orange, seaguls flying in the distance and the whole while hearing a faint melodic tune..i, even in a dream, felt overwhelming joy and anxiety...and then i watched the clouds start to part with streaming light but ended there as i woke up (or just had the dream end i dont really remember>_<)

um ok, so what i know is that after the rapture ( when God brings all the christians to heaven) then 7 years ( it think) of tribulation will begin..all the non-believers will start many wars over the matter, pretty much anyone that hated another for a reason came out about it. this time period will be a living hell pretty much but should people repent and realise their wrong doings then they can be accepted into heaven. at the end of seven years all those who stilll dont believe will perish in the apocalypse i think....well thats an generic description of it i will read up on it some more and get back to you as my memory is sketchy on the subject........ill just email you the info.

Read Left Behind >The Kids< by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim Lahayle and see their interpretations of Revelation. It's real good.
I don't believe you guys should be taking these dreams that seriously. I mean, don't just pass them off as a bad taco the night before but don't be sure that you've had premontions...
By the way, the Tribulation will be a time of great judgment but there will be plenty of joyous times as well. Non-believers will either believe Christ or believe the Antichrist. It will be the Antichrist and his false prophet alone that declare war. Though the ones who are decieved by the Antichrist will fight with him.
Realizing you're a sinner and repent alone won't save you. The Bible says that you must be reborn. That you must "pick up your cross daily." (I've stated this in other thread about a million times. PM me if you have questions.)
Okay...a generic outline of the Tribulation will be:
1. The Rapture. People will disappear from the Earth in the moment it takes to blink your eye.
2. Signing of the Peace Treaty with Israel. The Antichrist will sign a treaty with Israel declaring peace (Though it it known that the Antichrist will break that treaty at 3 and 1/2 years later.)
3. The Seven Seals. Which you'll have to read Revelation 6:1 to 8:5.
4. The Seven Trumpets. Revelation 8:6 to 11:19.
5. The Seven Bowls. Revelations 15:1 to 16:21.
Of course you should assume there being other prophecies between these basic ones. Like the Two Witnesses, the Death and Ressurection of the Antichrist, Jesus casting the Antichrist, his fale prophet, and Lucifer into the Lake of Fire, and such like that.

No one knows when the Rapture will take place besides God. So you're feelings might just be bad tacos. :D

Yeah that's what I said. "God doesn't talk to people." </sarcastic> Psh....I know He talks to people and I know He gives people visions. (John the Revelator for example.) I never said that I don't believe He didn't talk to people. Please stop twisting my words. All I said is that we can't know the mind of God because we're human. But He might tell someone when. Like Bill Wiese who went to Hell for 23 minutes. Jesus pulled him out and told him that Jesus was coming soon. But soon could have a different meaning than what we think of soon.

Think of the amount of energy required to create time and space relative to everywhere else, it would be a theory as to why god takes no hand directly to anything after creation and woring through Jesus ect
I dont believe he was ever gone but that he can't actively participate anymore in the phisical universe
