Who has heard of this vile cult who claims they murder, rape, steal, and a number of different things in the name of God?

Under threat of death, LRA child soldiers attack villages, shooting and cutting off people's lips, ears, hands, feet, or breasts, at times force-feeding the severed body parts to victims' families. Some cut open the bellies of pregnant women and tear their babies out. Men and women are gang-raped. As a warning to those who might report them to Ugandan authorities, they bore holes in the lips of victims and padlock them shut. Victims are burned alive or beaten to death with machetes and clubs. The murderous task is considered properly executed only when the victim is mutilated beyond recognition and his or her blood spatters the killer's clothing.
That's a paragraph from the article at christianitytoday.com I read a girl's story of her time with the LRA. It makes me sick that these people would do these kinds of things.

And this is upposed to be based on the Ten Commandments?

The LRA claims that but they're twisted. Sick and twisted. Especially their leader, Joseph Kony. What they do isn't anything even based off the Ten Commandments.

That's just sick... isn't there anything being done to stop them?

Those are two that I know of.
In the first few days of my kidnapping, I prayed, "Lord, help me escape!" But one girl actually tried. She got caught. LRA commanders forced us to beat her with firewood until she died. If we hit her too lightly, we were beaten. This happened many times as the LRA fighters moved us toward their base in Sudan, stealing more kids along the way.
That's from one girl's (name is Grace I believe) personal encounter with the LRA. She was attending a boarding school, I believe, when LRA soldiers came and kidnapped about 30 of the girls there. I don't understand why something like this could be happening....

How could you? These acts are simply not based on reason and logic. It takes a vile mind to understand the acts of vile people.

Nothing justifies something like this.
You hear all the time about evil people who kill indiscriminately, but that's always in stories. Someone always comes along to save the day in the end. But this is real, and the worst part is that nobody can just pick up a weapon or something and go charging in to save the day in real life.
So what can us normal people do? Just wait for the governments and the armies and the police and whoever to go in while we sit here and do nothing? I hate knowing there are people suffering and not being able to do anything significant about it. Why can't life be more like a story, where at least everyone has the chance to do something if they wanted to.

Well, yes you are correct. But I'm wondering how Joseph Kony got these vile acts in his head. Or how he became so twisted that he told others to do what they're doing. We'll probably never know.

I agree. I know people who can't stand to watch the news anymore because of all the evil things that are going on in our world right now. Someone or some people will come along and "save the day" I believe but it could be a long time before that happens. And I think it will mean destroying the "top officials" of the LRA.
I hate feeling like a useless lump of flesh as well. But...you could spread word about the evil deeds of the LRA and hope that others will do the same.

Spreading the word might help people to know what's going on, but it's not like we're all gonna band together and storm the LRA and take out their top officials, so it wouldn't really help to stop it. I know there are charity's and things, but what does donating money do, really? It's not like these people are suffering from hunger or something, they're being murdered and tortured by human beings, if you can call them that.

Well, donating money would also help pay for people who are trying to go over there and rescue some of the people. Or, people who can talk with the kids who escaped from the LRA.
...They made us raid villages for food and water, yet never fed us. We scavanged for rats, roots, leaves and wild fruits. We ate dirt.
I needed to talk to somebody about what I'd experienced.
("I Survived Hell" from Ignite magazine.)
I don't know about getting food to those kids but people are trying their best.

Damn....this is beyond vile, sick, and twisted. Its downright demonic. If anyone does decide to charge in, sword in hand(or gun), I'll sure as hell be on the front lines!
And you're right, I can't stand the thought of seening the pain of others, and knowing there's nothing I can do. This world needs a reform, now.

I agree with you. The LRA needs to be swiftly taken down. But...knowing the circumstances and such...it could take awhile. <_<
Why do I have the feeling I'll be spending the first 6 months in heaven in a phycologist's office? I'm so sick of hearing/seeing some of the things this world is doing....

Oh I've heard about this before. These people are so sick minded. Doing those things to people. And it must make a tough life for children having to walk for so long in search of safety at night.

AHHHHHG!!! I can't stand this! I've gotta do something!
I'm just sitting in a comfortable chair sage while others are being slaughtered
I hate it!
I'm going to use the money I make to build a place where people won't have to worry about these things anymore. I'll build a school for children to learn in safety.
No gangs, no war, no pain.
