Simultaneous Release with XIII

Do you think this'll be released at the same time as XIII? And, if it is, which would you rather buy? I'm more interested in Versus.

I personally, if having to choose would choose XIII over V'XIII.

:) Although a simultaneous release would be most pleasant, so I could mix between games.

I'm not quite sure, but it's probably just wishful thinking. From the look of it, Versus will come out quite a bit later than XIII, judging by how much information we have. Unless SE are holding out on us, Versus is still early in development, earlier than XIII. I also don't know whether it's a good marketing move. Still, I wouldn't want XIII delayed just to have a simultaneous release, but what do I know?

I would definetely prefer versus than the original as it sounds just so much better. The storyline seems to go more deeper than the original.

If they were to be release a the same time I would choose to buy vXIII over XIII first because I'm more interested in vXIII story. I still need to go get up-to-date with all the new informations regarding XIII. ~[^_x;]

True, XIII is further in DEV, than vsXIII, but not by much. Info on VS is being held back a bit. But there'll be an update at some point.

No, I don't think simultaneous releases would be a good idea. One WOULD probably have to be delayed.

Looking on it back now I actually wouldn't like a multiple release; I'd like to have a moment where I can fan-boy over them seperately. I know it more than likely wont happen but I'd like VXIII first; not because I prefer it - I don't - but because it would get me really hyped for XIII.

I think there was an article somewhere that said XIII was 13% complete, while Versus was 2% complete. But that was like a year ago, so it might be more like 20-30% complete (though considering it's square 15-25% might be more realistic) now which would put Versus at about 7-10% completion (that is if they're even working on it and aren't just working on XIII then gonna start on Versus)

No, its being worked on, just slowly, like I said. SE has a habit of accumulaitng hype, and then making fans wait. And as we all know, it works.

Surely I would've thought the waiting was to make a good game and not just hype it up?

Well, SE could keep a low profile and release minimal information until just before the game is released, and so avoid the accumulation of hype. Would that be a good idea? SE knows best.

Its both actually. When you've got fans screaming for the game, you got hype. Then you're taking you time to perfect it. (pleased fans) You follow?

I'm not much for hype personally. No sense in getting excited about a game months before it's released, or as in this case, years. I'd actually rather have SE stay quiet. And work themselves to the bone, heheh...

i think, all wait for versus more,than for original. It is all because we saw those colouful sights already in different FF like X 8 or something... I mean, this graphic style, which is simular to original xiii FF.
And Versus looks like more interesting- with all theese dark features, mystical character and etc.
And Square know this. that's why they are making us wait for versus longer, than for original. If it was vice versa, no one wanted to buy FFxiii after more interesting game which has been already bought by everyone... IMO :)
P.S.-it is right only if versus is more excited game than the original one, lol :) but i think it is.

Yeah. I like hype and all that but sometimes it turns from hype into boredom and so when the game comes out you just -- don't care really.

:) Not that this has happened with any FF titles with me.

Could turn out that Versus has the better plot/setting and XIII has the better gameplay. That would be bad, and perhaps it's likely considering the KH team in working on Versus.

Depends on opinions really I suppose, 'cause I didn't really like all of the KH storylines in some respects.

Well, I'm not really a fan of KH, but I like what's been presented so far for Versus. The classical theme is rare in Japanese games and the story sounds promising.

Don't get me wrong, Versus looks great too, but I'm just inexplicably more inclined to FFXIII.

I'm more hyped up about FF Versus XIII to be honest, it looks like it has a better story line and better game play than FFXIII.

I would prefer it if FFXIII was released first so then FF Versus XIII could over shadow it when it's released.

I havent been going around knowing what is the story with the XIIIs but from the trailers, I would like XIII. The battle system looks really weird looking and new, that's something that i look forward for; with the VXIII i never saw the battle system but it was only filled with scenes and the guy looking very...sad, can't find the word for it but yea.

So little info on Versus has been revealed it just didn't get me hyper yet. Yeh FFXIII only has one trailer (that we have seen) too, but it's a much more exciting one, with actual ingame footage and a colourful world. Versus' world, as Destiny Angel said, seems too gloomy (and boring) from that first trailer. I'm sure it will be an awesome game, but I want to see more before going hyper about it first \o\ And I want to see more of FFXIII too!

All in all, I find simultaneous release unlikely. They were in completely different % of development completion last I checked, and they still haven't revealed any information on the game system, which composes one of the basics of development. :/

For now, I'ld rather versus because of what the plot look like , I prefer tragic story. But we don't know that much about the gameplay. In Kingdom hearts, fights look (for me) more like a "beat them all/action" style . I wonder if Mister Nomura is going to do the same in Versus, or if it'll be something else...

I can only hope that the battle system for this is like KH's.

nope. From personal experience SE has a habit of delaying their games for a long period of time in hopes of hyping it up.
