Do you think birth control should be given to girls in middle school...and/or condoms to boys?

Hellz yeah
I'm sorry but alot of kids who r sexually active nowadays don't use protection and need it -.-
Just found out a kid from my other forum (15) might be a dad because he had sex without a condom and his excuse for not using one is: I didn't have one at the time

And as for birth control: I would, but hopefully the girls won't take advantage of it and NOT use protection anyways, but good luck with that

Definatly birth control.
Hell i'm on it now, but it's rather for medical reasons.

I have already a girl in my year who has a child which is...what 7 months old? Just because the 'man' who's the father of her baby had the ignorance not to think of consequences.
And funnily enough, he's disowned her.

It's just ridiculous how people don't think this through, at least i'm not idiotic enough to leave out procautions.

I wouldn't say handing out Condoms to men, it's their responsability, and they can easily pick up free ones from Family health clinic's.
The same applies to woman, they go to their local GP to be perscribed the Pill.

And Ele, that boy you said about has no excuse (yea you know xD) I don't see how 'not having one at the time' justifys having unprotected sex and having the possibility in becoming a father.

I think it should. It would cause less stress to them (taking care of a kid at 16 is....... quite young.....)

Yes, have been for around nearly a year now. But i don't depend on it in order to not get pregnant, but i think most girls use it soley just out of laziness, just because they are either too 'shy' to go buy or get them from a family health clinic. Hell, i've had guy's come up to me and ask me to go buy some, and i'm sitting there thinking 'The hell?'
And yea...i do buy them for them, it's not like i'm going to deney the safety of my friends vagina's. :cunning:

I Agree with elphy anyone should be able to get birth controle okay!!!! And the morons who thought keeping birth control away from kids would stop them from having kids was sadly mistaken.

REBEL (but be careful)

Anybody can anyway.
Thats what Family Health Clinic's are for, it's just the question of people actually having the physical ability to bother.
As for in schools, they cannot supply them, i doubt they have a right to, all our medical staff are allowed to store is only light medication, only because students on health watch (usually mentally unstable) could have the possibility of overdosing. Yea, i know it doesn't make sense either, but i think the Pill applies to the rules, and they school don't permit children to bring it in or the medical staff to supply it for children.

And to be honest, even Sex Education isn't relativly good, i think last year, we watched a video about how sex brings HIV and AID's for one lesson and that was it. It could be a lack of Sex Education could be the fact some teen's don't even relise what consequences could happen.
It's funny how open my parents are with me, It's a shame the school arn't the same.
I remember once i sat with my dad watching TV and we could hear my sister upstairs....ahem :cunning:
"WHY IS EVERYBODY IN THIS HOUSE HAVING SEX APART FROM ME!"

Well to play Devil's Advocate...giving these items to teens, will promote sexual activity. And we all know it's, "morally," wrong to have sex at such a young age, at least in America.:cookie:

Thats good stuff.

I think that "teens" or "students", whatever you want to call them, need to be better educated. I think it should be a semester long course and mandated to graduate.

And giving out protection would promote sexual activity, but it would also let teens make their own choices and the possibility of pregnant teens would go down dramatically I would assume....

You never know, sexual activity might decline because teens WANT to rebel, so maybe they think that not using protection is a form of rebellion?

I dunno, maybe I am thinking way too much on the whole issue.:|

People that age can access contraception if they need it. If they're old enough to be having sex they're old enough to slip a freakin' condom on.

They shouldn't need to have them given to them.

Hell, kids don't have sex that young...or am I just being left out? At least they don't over here, but then again...thinking on it, the average age for first having sex here is 16, and I think 16 is the minimum legal age too. So that is good yes? That the average age and legal age is the same? God no, it merely means that a lot of people are having sex younger. Or maybe I'm just bias because i feel left out...:'(

Hell the whole year below me are like, what? 13 slash 14, and they are all buming each other or the nearest plastic doll.
Considering im 15, at least i wasn't sexually active until a few months ago.
But considering that, all the people in the year below me are dutty little shlags with whips. :|

Great Description.

I think that America in general is being desensitized to lots of things, violence, sex, language.

Maybe that is why movies and games are becoming more violent and are full of more language, and sex.

Maybe that is why the 13 years olds are dirty little shlags with whips.:|

wtf Middle school? Isn't that a bit too soon? I don't know anyone, or even anyone who anyone I know knows who's had sex before the age for 15. =/ That might seem young to some people but I dunno. The legal age of consent in Canada is 14, but almost no one ever does it. LOL most people I know never even had a girlfriend before much less sex. Just goes to show you how different people are in the US and Canada. Well, North York anyway.

BUT YES THIS IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA. Condoms for everyone!!!!!!11111

There are a few people in my school already having sex. And it's pathetic. The age of 13 and they're already doing these things. And yet they wonder why just about everyone around the school knows and is shocked. -_- Birth control should definitley be given out, as well as condoms. But if people don't want to watch for their safety, then that's their fault and they're going to have to deal with it.

Curiously enough, schools over here in WA are trying to stem this off by 1. outlawing hugging and, for some, 2. requiring students of the opposite sex to remain at least 30cm away from each other at all times. This last rule is especially ridiculous; how can you enforce it in a hallway that's 2.5m wide and has 150 students trying to walk through it? Personally I think that even outlawing hugging is going too far. The excuse given is that it protects students who are uncomfortable with being hugged from being hugged. I don't like being hugged and all I had to do to stop it was mention to my friends, the only people who would hug me, that I didn't like it and they respected that and didn't do it. If someone knows you well enough to be hugging you, you should be in a situation where you're able to tell them not to.

...it's sorta related to sex and school.

didn't really work out though. .

The Minister for Education has since called for schools to use common sense when making rules like these.

My school has a 'no lying down' rule on the grounds it's 'unladylike', not that it stops us.

I've heard about some studies that are showing that kids are reaching puberty a lot earlier then they used to, probably due to their diet.

Hell, it's pretty much that here, i've heard of a couple of Year 9's have gotten pregnant, now one of my friends is pregnant and planning to abort it, it's actually quite sickening, considering i would never want to get into that situation. NEVER D< because i hate children <_<

Holy shit, people should start spaying their children, because they seem to lack the intellegance of a condom :\.

I know a girl who's 12 who has had sex with her boyfriend multiple times.
I don't really mind people my age having sex, because most of us have enough of a brain to at least THINK about protection.
I do care about my friends though.

Cathryn
Jan 17 2008, 11:50 PM
If 'most' people around the age of say, 12 - 17 where thinking and using protection correctly, then why are teenage pregnacies high?
It really isn't a question of thinking within my opinion.

The only reason younger people are becoming more in tune with sex is because it seems, that children are developing earlier and also down to diet most likely.
And because the lack of education within schools around this subject is mostly nothing, children learn from their friends, and even if they are told out procautions, some do not seem to take advise from an older person or relative.

(And lets not get myself involved, i know i'm a 15 year old sexual predator, but atleast i'm not stupid :aldo:)

AND STOP BUMPING OLD TOPICS :nag:
