View Full Version : Sora, Roxas, and Ven

So, I don't think this is very important, but so far it seems that they all use different hands when wielding keyblades.
Sora uses his right hand, Roxas uses both, and Ven uses his left (as seen in the end of Birth by Sleep trailer, not completely sure and in a review from the Closed Mega Theatre which I read at kh-vids)
Does anybody think this has any importance or is just another thing Nomura and SE decided to add in because it's cool?
Also, I'm pretty sure there might already be a thread about this, but does anyone have any idea of what relationship the three might have with each other? Sora and Roxas we already know, but Ven is sort of just...Out there... I'm already stumped, any ideas?

Um Roxas is Sora's nobody but we don't know why Ven looks like him. Appearances can be deceiving. I know that Ven is related to Sora. They say there is a new enemy so maybe this has something to do with Sora and Ven.

Yeah.. I'm confused about Ven too. Everyone says that Roxas and Ven look exactly the same. Hair, face, wristband, everything. But, if you look at their wristbands, you'll notice that Roxas' has black on the outside edge, and Ven's has white ;)
Btw, I'm new here, so sorry if I seem stupid or whatnot haha

hey, thats right...maybe to roxas, sora is the nobody because if ven is related to either of them, it should be roxas. unless i wanna go with my original theory where Ven IS roxas but he doesnt remember himself as "roxas" but "Ven" and that ven is sora's grandfather or something.^_^

There should be something behind Terra and Ven's story because ti was said that Terra in a way saved Ven.

there could be a theory that terra is riku's grandfather.^_^

Hmm..maybe. But didn't they say that it takes place only like 10 years before KH1? And they said there's the scene where Ven and Terra are on Destiny Island with Sora and Riku as little kids. Don't Ven and Terra look a little too young to be grandparents? xD Idk that's just what I was thinkin'.

there could be a theory that terra is riku's grandfather.^_^He does look a bit like Riku. I've been thinking of Maiya Sayaido's post. They hold keyblades differently. Ven uses his left and I only see Roxas use right and both hands but never only left. This can be used to justify that Ven isn't Roxas probably. And in the scans, Ven and terra had their left hands on armor but Roxas doesn't have

Ven has a relation with Sora, Ven means air, as Sora means wind, which are the same; Aqua means water, and Kairi means ocean, which leads the same to water; Terra means earth, as Riku has some relation with earth, but...

Ven takes Riku's Keyblade.
Aqua takes Mickey's Keyblade.
Terra takes Sora's Keyblade.
That's just even more confusing. And where the hell do they go in the second trailer?

I love their armor. And if Ven and Sora mean the same thing and Roxas is just like Sora with its letters then mixed adding a letter x to it, then Roxas might also have big part with Sora and Ven's relation. He holds half of Sora anyway.

I'm completely against any family relations such as grandfathers or anything in Kingdom Hearts. Honestly, you think they would've used family sooner in the game if family members were important. Remember at the beginning of KH? Right before Sora gets thrown from his island, his mother calls him down for dinner. Aha, where is she now? So, it's highly unlikely for a grandparent to randomly appear. It wouldn't really make sense. Where are the mothers and fathers? Brothers and sisters? Or even the last names?
Also, to go along with HalfMetal's post, it is quite weird. I was wondering why they grabbed all different keyblades even though they don't belong to the person they seemingly relate with. Maybe there's a reason why they grabbed those keyblades? And how come Aqua hasn't shown up in any scans or reviews?

About those keyblades, they are the only 3 with key chains so they chose it over the others. In the trailer we saw keyblade war so it might have something to do with its previous bearers. I'm thinking...If Ven IS related to Sora and Ven took the Way to Dawn keyblade, then how come Sora has the Kingdom key which Terra took?

il be honest with you.. there are no realations in KHs... the picking up of the keyblades does not mean they have any relation... becouse they never met before... that trailer is the past, how can any of them be related...?? their paths connect becouse they are all keyblade masters.

Aqua picks up Mickey's keyblade, can you the resemblance... they family for sure hahaha :P
at the time of that Trailer called "The Gathering" Micky is still beeing trained by Yen-sid to be a Keyblade Master.

And interesting to notice that although Aqua picked up Mickey's keyblade, Mickey is still seen with a Keyblade of his own at the end of the second trailer. W.T.F?

The 3 Keyblades have no owners at the point when they picked up by the 3 knight, all they are is symbols on the deferent choices of beeing a keyblade master.
Say there’s 3 of them there, and they are at the Gathering on a crossroad, so basically Dark Key in Mickey’s, Light is Sora’s, and Road to Dawn is Riku’s… and there’s one missing since it’s a cross roads, and them you see that person on the Horizon, meaning he is the Twilight blade.
Now Starting with the point that Riku was meant to have the keyblade in KH1, cause he is the real keyblade master in KH1, basically saying he had the Strongest heart then, the only reason he did not get it, was mainly because he was to ambitious, and he’s heart was inclined to the darkness, So the Keyblade of Light passed on to Sora, cause Sora is pure hearted. Giving Riku the wingedbat sword, idk the name of it right now.
Then in Hollow Bastion, Riku manages to take the keyblade of Sora, cause on that moment Riku was the Strongest heart,… until Sora managed to get it back. It had always been a confrontation between them 2… or competition.
Has for the 3 Knights, Aqua, Terra and Ventus, they are apprentices, so there keyblades are a bit deferent, they have no Keychains on them eather, unlike the 2 bad guys they are fighting with, both the bald guy, and his sidekick have keyblades with keychains on them, meaning they are keyblade masters. Has for Mickey, he just obtained the Startseeker, meaning he has just become a keyblade master himself.
See how does Sora get deferent Keys, he travels the worlds, that’s how anyone would get their keys, xcept for the ability to get one in the 1st place, that deferent, they are chosen to be keyblade masters, like Sora was, making him the youngest ever keyblade Master apparently.
The reason why Riku, ended up with the Road do Dawn blade, was because he chose the road to Dawn at the end of Chain of memories, basically saying that he will use the Darkness in his heart for good, not evil, so he became a master and his batwing sword, became the Road to Dawn. Kairi I have no clue,… lol
Roxas has both keyblades because, Oblivion symbolizes Riku and oathkeeper is Kairi, 2 friend of Sora, another person he never met.
Hope I answered some questions.. and that I made some sense lol, makes sense in my head hahaha but if anything I can explain again lol
Thx :D

Are you basically suggesting then that the keyblades are a sort of ranking?
Thimien
Jan 10 2008, 10:32 AM
Not a ranking... put it this way.. every world has a lock... same has each world has a keyblade.. you get me :)
But some keys just mean deferent things i gess... and some i just there just for that person.

I don't think there are actually kanji given for any of the names. At the very least, I don't know the kanji for them. Sora, Kairi and Riku are all real Japanese names, but all of them are usually female names. ^^;
The word "Sora" actually means "Sky" or "heavens." I don't think there's a wind element to it, but it's still an airy name. There's also about 65 spellings of the proper name "Sora" in Japanese, but I think the word carries enough of the meaning by itself.
Kairi has about 17 different spellings, a good half of which include the character for ocean but don't mean ocean. A "Kairi" is a nautical mile, or a beaver. I think in her case only, it makes more sense to look at the Japanese proper names than the meanings of the word.
The word "Riku" means land or shore~ The names mean various things. There are about 40 different normal spellings of the proper name Riku, but like with Sora, I think the normal noun pretty much conveys what the name is supposed to.
They all have the element there, I agree~

Ven is older than both Sora and Roxas. I wonder where he's at in the first two games... They all seem to have a relationship with Xehanort.
