I'm hardly remembering the translation my aunt read out to me from this article but I'm gonna try to remember the best I can. Don't get mad at me for the wrong order either 'cause it ain't a translation but a summary of sorts. I'm trying to remember all that she said and I'll maybe block them in order to not be repetitive (since my aunt did seem bored). I may be a little off but it's all from memory.
You as the main character have entered into this magickal institute Perishitiriumu. The ultimate magicks lie hidden in the instructor's teachings and your strength of friends and hope. What kind of powers could there be? What are the powers? What kind of people will you meet? Are they good people? Are there bad people?
The Crystal is the force that holds world peace and order. The magickal institute is there to turn out the finest magickal warriors to protect the Crystal from the negative forces within the school with the powers learned through training. A hidden battle in the magick institute.
The training though is harsh, indifferent, and highly strict. Students can lose their lives to the harshness and some may run away from training. The school life however is full of this strict training.
The students despite strict training have lives of their own. You will begin to see that they have a face of their own beneath that mask. Each student has their own path to tread. You too from the first day of school.
The magickal institute is located in the region of Ruburumu. There however are other regions with their own Crystal. Other rival institutes: Suzaku (South), Genbu (North), Byakko (West), and Seiryuu (East). It is possible that they will seize the Crystal from Perishitiriumu.
What is the Agito? It is the highest title of a mage. The class that wields the most powerful of magick. The goal of all Perishitiriumu students. Through the aid of friends, the teachings of the instructors, and hardship, lies the way.
It is the one title no one knows much about but strives towards. Agito is the word for the turning of cogs, the beginning of an action. You wanted to become the best and the strongest ever since you enrolled. Whether the end of school will be the end of the journey or the beginning, the battle may not be over. You will be fighting until the day you graduate. If you do graduate.

Hurray! Thank you, Naunau. This is just what I wanted for Christmas.~
I guess I'll do the Agito translation before I do the FFXIII translation... Agito needs it more badly anyway.
Poor Agito needs more lore out, even if it may never make it here. If it's out by 2009ish, maybe I'll get a chance to play it.~

----I didn't have her read the Expectations pages because it was uninteresting to her. v.v It's good enough though.

All I really needed was some background info on Agito, since I knew literally nothing about it. This is a great starting point ^^ I think all the Expectatons pages are just their guesses anyway.

Ahh, I see. v.v I wish I had done it soon. My memory ran to only traces of the words "gates" and "trust." I can't consider it a translation. v.v

Oh, well. Thanks for the summary bit, Naunen. I didn't really have a clue as to what Agito was like until now. It sounds a bit more interesting. No one really seems hyped up for it though. Unfortunately, this game seems a bit dull compared to FFXIII and Versus. I also think that's quite a long name for the school/academy. But... I guess it's because the crystal is probably just a huge giant floating rock and there is no real mystery behind it, not from what I can see anyway... It sort of sounds like a fanfiction to me, no offense to anyone.

In terms of the names, you have to remember that those are the romanizations of the Japanese names, not how the English names will be spelled. ^_^
Actually, the trailer in the little mini Closed Theater in the SE store in Tokyo was pretty cool looking, but I couldn't understand a thing it said. ^^; I'm pretty interested to get to the article and hear more of the plot. I think the gameplay may be pretty boring though, whenever it comes out. It sounds like an online turn-based phone game @_@;

----Well, the name could be Periculum. My aunt once said katakana Ri + another vowel like U = Lu since Ri's pronounced Li. Pronunciations in Latin are strong. In Latin, some C's are pronounced with a Ch so Square probably thought so (since Latin pronunciation was butchered in VsXIII's Somnus). Periculum. Perishitiriumu.

Was it butchered? I wondered about that. I assume it must be a Japanese singer. She's got quite a pretty voice though.
Sorry. That had nothing to do with Agito whatsoever. (._.)

----Yeah. Tragoedia's got a hard G, Quae ain't pronounced kwe. o.o I hear her pronounce V's only with V's and not occasionally with W's. I'm probably not making sense. ._.

ahhh... hmmm lol. The Quae is because that's how you would phonetically pronounce it in Japanese, I guess. It makes a pretty song, even if the pronunciation is all off. I understood most of what you said ^^; Nobody says that WE romanized the lyrics correctly though... I think we have to wait to see what the lyrics are supposed to be first >_< Not that SE has had a wonderful track record with latin in the first place...

True. That and Latin's a dead/dying language. I believe the lyrics are as we've heard. Though people compete with their own translations and saying, "NO. I have here the CORRECT translation." >< We'd never know. Anyway, Periculum means trial and experiment. O.o

We'll know when it comes out on a CD with lyrics included. ^^ We will know eventually. I swear I've seen translations of the name of the school, but I can't remember them =/

Perhaps it's safer to keep it as Perishitiriumu.

Dec 29 2007, 02:26 AM
Haha, yeah I already knew it would be shorter when translated into english. Though, you guys sort of lost me when Blank talked about a singer? As for Latin, yeah, seems like it is slowly dying away, glad that SE is deciding to use a different/another language in there game even if it's just a little part of the game. I think they used a bit of Italian too.

Oh no! Agito has been lost in a sea of discussions about Versus! Though I've read that they'll be similar to each other. ._. I'm probably the only one hyped for Agito 'cause I'm maybe the only one on the forums using cell phone Internet and being mostly Mobile.

Whoa, really? I haven't really seen anyone at all hyped up for Agito. My friend and I talked about it and wondered why it was even numbered traditionally as thirteen. Kind of sad... They're related? Haha, maybe a thousand years after the events of Versus takes place, a school suddenly is built to protect the crystal that was once protected by the prince, don't listen to me I totally made it up. Ugh, my cellphone doesn't have net I think... It's not even that fast or compatible with anything. So, I'm out for the count.

----Yeah, related in story. Not the same world.
I'm able to do a lot with Mobile because my parents own a cell phone store. I can't wait for Agito. I think Ultima Star's the other hyped one.

I sort of feel bad for Agito. It's not getting much attention at all. Hehe, yeah that was just my imagination running wild. Don't mind me. Well, do we even know that much about Agito aside from the summary you posted? We don't know much about the main character do we?

Aha! When you suddenly spoke up about a singer I was like 'Agito has a singer? What the crap? Isn't it a mobile game?" Aren't they using Italian too though? Or at least that's what I remember from Maiki's review.

I just don’t know if the money made on mobile phone gaming justifies even making games for mobiles phones.
Seriously, SE are weird, they did not release some ps2 games in EU and USA cause they didn’t think they had a market outside Japan, example “KH2FM”, but they plan to release a mobile phone game, I know it has not been announced yet where it will be released, but what the point on making a FF13 compilation if your not going to release all the games round the world.
I hope they stop making mobile phone games,
it’s a waste of time in my opinion.

That's just it. It's not as popular outside of Japan. I'd think they would rather start off pretty well in Japan first.
