Control other characters?

I'm wondering...'bout FFXIII we have seen 2 characters so far (the heroine and blonde-guy)...And 'bout VXIII only the prince has been seen (but other more to come:rolleyes:)... Since either game's gameplay looks so complex i'm wondering if you will be able to control other characters as well...?:|
In the FFXIII video we have seen Lightning kick ass but it seems just too focused on one person(herself), so i don't know if other playable characters will appear.
Maybe it's stupid thinking, but what do you think?

Well it seems the game play will be very cool however from what iv seen it only focuses on single player battles on both games. At the moment i cant comprehend how additional characters will be played, i guess for vxiii you'll have to cutomize the additional character via the main menu and there will battle on their own. I hope that not the case for xiii.

I think Nomura has already stated that there will definitely be traditional parties in these games so yeah, I don't see why not.

I think Nomura has said "yes" to traditional parties in FFXIII, but I don't know that I've ever seen anything definitively saying "yes" or "no" to Versus.

Yes they will consist of parties. XIII has even been hinted to having FFIV/IX/X like parties with characters filling only specific roles. vXIII using a obviously more A.I. driven approach.

Really now, that stuff is in interviews on the site and you could have read that in less then half the time it took for my response to come. Hopefully a interesting topic would come out of it too.

Nope i havnt heard about battle on Versus, but if i had to gess, it looks like it could be a KHs style... i wouldnt mind it if it ends a bit like KHs battle... even tho i love ATB, and somehow, dont know why, but FFX-2 "please dont kill me" battle system was good, i like how fast you could play on it, not the dres sephere tho that was crap.

Another thing, if you look at the battle on FF13 with Lightning, damn it looks goooood, a lil to good dont you think... im trying to think if that real game battle, or just a montage lol How are you sopose to play on it hahaha i didnt even see any enamys attack her lol just her kicking their ass... imagine 2 or 3 caracters in battle... it most be crasy lol

Where did you see information saying about Versus using a more A.I. driven approach? I just read through all the interviews and scans and didn't see anything stating that it would be. I didn't see anything talking about other characters in battle at all, actually. Am I missing something...?

This system stemmed from a desire to create battles of the type found in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII:_Advent_Children), whilst adding multiple player characters to the battle.

I'll take that for FFXIII, but that doesn't say about Versus, I don't think.~ The original cited article link is broken on Wiki, and the square enix na page no longer has it~ That's okay though, because it is in one of the FFXIII interviews on the site~ I don't remember which one though, sorry ._.
