After speculation of the Prince's license plate...

Us in the ChatBox today have come to a conclusion. The license plate on the Prince's car has the first to letters of "Ca" we believe..so we suppose it says "California." From this, we thought and thought, and finally came up with the story for Versus~

The Prince is an illegal immigrant living in the ghettos of San Jose, California. He is taking his "latino siesta" when the U.S. soldiers come to take him back to Mexico. The Prince then uses the power of the crystal to blast them away so he can get back to his snooze ^_^.

Later on, he finds the "pigtail girl" and they have a brief conversation. The Prince says, "Gurl, yous stupid fly." The "pigtail girl" slaps him, knocks him out, and takes him back to Mexico. It turns out she was with the soldiers ^_^



Hahaha I'm not serious. I was just wondering what you guys think about the license plate in the first 10 seconds of the CLOUD trailer. Dark Vincent says it starts with Ca, but we're not sure. Please watch it and tell us what you think it might say ^_^

And I don't mean any offense by this, it was just some stupid little story us in the ChatBox came up with ^_^

Yeah, I burned the trailer on DVD and watched it on the family's flat screen. It clearly says either 'Caelum' or 'Caclum'. I'm betting on Caelum, though, the c or e looks a bit more like an e in my opinion, I was just putting Caclum into the picture just to be safe.

Anyways, I'm thinking it is either the name of the country or his name. I'm leaning slightly more towards the name of the country, but who knows.

Well, I always try to look out for small details in the trailers, I wondered what it might be for a while. I actually thought it was the name of the country he is in. Nomura seems pretty serious about this game. I can't imagine he'd be putting jokes in trailers.~ I think we have a word and don't know what it means. Unfortunately, we probably won't know what it means until it's announced to us by other means anyway, such as them actually telling us that something is called Caelum. :lol:

You know, to be truly honest. I bet if the license plate had, had numbers instead of letters. You guys still would have spent hours looking at it. Then hours trying to figure out if what you see/saw was correct. Then, spent hours on whether the numbers had anything to do with the story. Besides that little bit, I do think that it's probably the name of his country. I mean he does have the last crystal and his city does look pretty awesome. Though, I can't say he's having the best time there.

Ever since i first saw the Cloud Trailer of FFvXIII, i tried my best to read the number plate on the back of the Prince's car, mainly because i think its a clue or a reference to something, as it was shown clearly (By clearly i mean, they didn't try and and conceal it).
I actually did almost bleed my eyes out trying to read it ( Stupid windows player...i don't even know how to take a still image on it.../sigh) And the word i made out was 'Caelum' as well.

So I did a little research on the word, and what do you know...it's a latin word...that makes sense as this game has many latin phrases and such...

Here is the info...think of it what you will, but i believe it is a reference to the Prince himself...

Now to me the "Sculptor" is the crystal, and the chisel is the Prince, he is the one carving destiny in his own way and a medium of the crystal...or something along those lines...

...THUS leads me to believe the Protagonist's name (The Prince) is....CAELUM.
I pronounce it CAE-( As in Cake)) and -LUM (As in Lumberjack)...Cae-lum.
