Well, this election season has been SO big. It's constantly talked about, and everyone seems to be excited about it. So of the 3 remaining big candidates, whom are you for? Voice your opinion, and don't forget to vote. XD
I'm personally for Mrs. Hillary Clinton. She even took my home state of TN which I enjoyed.

As an Australian I can't vote and honestly don't really care either way who wins but I have been following the Democratic preselection race with some neutral interest. You'd have to think that whoever wins the Democrat nomination will be the next President, but I've heard that before.

Haha yes girl, I know what you mean.
Our election process is really horrible. You'd think whoever got the popular vote would get the presidency, but that's not how it works. Otherwise, we'd have had Gore in 00 instead of Bush.
Right now the Republicans already have their nominee (McCain) but the Democrats are dead locked and it will probably come down to super delegates breaking it to decide who gets it. Although I must say, the Democrats have flat out SLAUGHTERED the Republicans when it came to turn outs for voting in the primaries. That's a good sign, at least imo.
Take Texas for instance. Texas is a Republican state, and the Democrats had double the turn out (over 2 million votes cast) than the Republicans did. That really surprised me. But it's been that way everytime from what I've seen. My state is also Republican, and the Democrats had a better turn out than the Republicans (which totally made me squee ^_^)

Clinton has my vote.
Obama doesn't have enough experience. The guy has only been a senator for three years. His whole campaign his based on this message of "change," but he hasn't proven to me how he'll make this "change" a reality. He's all talk in my opinion.
And I'm sick of republicans, so that cuts McCain out in my book.

Yes I know what you mean.
I personally don't dislike Obama, but at the same time, I just get this odd feeling about him. I know the campaign person the Obama camp fired recently for calling Hillary a monster had mentioned that Obama really didn't have a plan to get troops out of Iraq as quickly as he's been saying.
I was like ooOOOoOOOOo.....so the truth's finally out. I kinda figured he didn't have a clue as to when he was going to do that. It's not really that big of an issue, but it's still very noteworthy. In the latest polls taken, Hillary's chances of beating McCain are actually higher now than Obama's. That surprised me as well, but perhaps some people are starting to realize that Obama isn't perfect like the media seemed to portray all the time.

just a little thought to ponder, since i was reading about it the other day....
why wont Hillary release her income-tax filings? it is traditional for candidates to do so, but she refuses. and by the way, she had a some-what scandalous one several years back with a $100,000 gain on a cattle sale.
this race has been a joke in my opinion. Ron Paul should have gotten more respect and attention, but instead all of the media outlets decided to shun him. i feel that his "radical" ideas were very well thought out and would have done this country some good. but, since his ideas were so new, he was ignored by the apathetic and ignorant people. it's a shame that voters can be conned into voting for the person who manages to garner the most hype and attention...i believe that none of these candidates can do what really needs to be done, plain and simple.

Hillary says she's going to release her income taxes in April. Whether she does I don't know, but that's what she claims. Really, all the candidates have dirt on them. Nobody's scott free, but I know Obama has slung just as much at Hillary as she has him. Truthfully I wish neither would talk about the other like they do, but sadly that's politics.
Regarding Ron Paul I agree 100%. He was treated quite badly in debates, especially the latter ones.

I agree with safer_waters, and I think we discussed another issue that was indirectly related to this... but whichever way you look at it someone needs to become president, so might as well vote for the one you think will do somewhat well in their term. I agree with Icey with the fact that unfortunately politics rears it's ugly face in when it comes to campaigns like these to appeal to the people. Although personally if I was wasting lots of money campaigning for president, I would waste less time pegging the other candidate with stupid insults that aren't true and more on what I could do.
Not sure if you guys saw the news about... a few weeks ago? But supposedly Obama has a book out which talks about his "rough childhood" and how he "changed" for the better, and his classmates that were interviewed spoke differently saying he was a charismatic and happy youth, contrary to what was portrayed in his book. So, I can see where Kazu is coming from with the whole "Obama is all talk" logic.
Annoyingly enough I still hear many people saying stupid things like "Hilary can't handle being president because she is a woman, and women get stressed and break down easier". wtf? where are these wankers pulling their little beliefs from? It's nothing but being a disgusting sexist, is what.

She is going to release hers in April assuming that she wins the Democratic nomination  So in other words, she will release whatever dirty/questionable information they contain AFTER she has already sealed the position as Democratic nominee, thus minimizing the negative effects.
that being said, i agree wholeheartedly that the majority of the candidates (read: everyone minus Ron Paul) has been spending roughly 99.999% of their time bashing the other candidates rather than campaigning on how to change this shitty current state of affairs. that is why i am so unsure who to vote for...they all seem like they are far more interested in semantics and one-time occurrences or votes within the Senate that they lack any real platform or ideas. i don't really see things going anywhere or changing too much in the near future, regardless of who wins. we need a big change, and only one person had a platform to deliver that...he got thrown to the curb. how ironic.

The big question is do you really trust any of them?
Hey, at least you get an election. We're stuck with PM Brown, who got the job without actually having to hold an election. What a country.
Not being over in the states i cant really judge the mood, but do you think there's a lot of people who will vote for Clinton simply because she's a woman or Obama simply because he's black?

I voted for Hillary Clinton, presently out of mild interest in the current presidential elections. I'm not American, but I appreciate intelligent figures like Hillary Clinton who I read was a Yale graduate, over "leaders" like George Bush, who got in through legacy admissions, or so I've heard..
Anyhow, I think any of the three would be a positive change for Americans.
And Mrs. Clinton is a woman :aldo: being a firm anti-sexist myself.

I don't understand why a primary election is held at all. I think it's a waste of money and time. A party should be able to select candidates on its own. What if Clinton and Obama are in a dead heat? Then everything was all for nothing.

Well...I'm still too young to vote, but I don't know who I'd pick if I could. I'm pretty neutral about the whole situation, but my parents talk about it a lot even though they can't vote either. All I have to say is that confidence doesn't exactly make a good president. All these candidates promise so many things, but will they actually keep those promises? They promise change, but it's almost impossible to turn the country around in a single president's term of office. Change takes time, and those candidates who are confident enough to say that their radical plans for change will help...well, they're trying to do too much. Change is good, but too much too soon isn't. Then again, I'm still too young to vote...so how much do I know?

i wouldn't have minded Hillary, or Obama. hillary would have done well, but i disliked here negativity. and obama might have inexperience, but i think he has enough intellect to make decisions after he's aquired enough facts, and not keep an unchanging stance that would make things worse, ie. McCain.

and being so young, from experience, are you mainly persuaded based off of your parents perception of a candidate?

Obama sold out? How? Didn't he recently make an important speech in Berlin, its all over the news.
At this point I'm almost neutral on this who election thing. I don't mean to be negative since I'm usually happy but...
AMERICA IS SO NOT COOL RIGHT NOW!
I mean with that idiot monkey in office for like eight years or whatever (and yes I'm talking about Bush) The nation has become...not...good!:nag: We're already going into another recession, everyone's complaining about gas prices constantly rising (It cost $60 for my mom to fill up the whole tank), the housing market is basically dead we might as well bury it! Not to mention that damn Iraq war that has been going on for like five years now and is sucking the whole country of its money! And the soldiers keep getting sent there and for what? To be blown up! By terrorists, but does Bush get it? No! All he cares about is oil!
The economy sucks and I am so not proud to be an American at this time.
But anyways I'm done ranting. I guess the point I'm trying to make is at this point I don't really care about the presidents or whatever. They'll just do something stupid to screw up the country even more. And that's my biggest concern. If Obama or McCain win will they do anything effective to help the country? And does Hilary still support Obama I know she already has experiance in the president thing and isn't McCain a little too old for all of this?
Politics get on my nerves, I'm glad I'm not old enough to vote yet.:|

No, soldiers in leadership are arrogant trigger happy shits who in an instant will go to war just to make themselves look big.
Not much different to civilian presidents who do it for kicks.
