I'd like to ask the owner of this site a few questions, if I may do so? I'd just like to get some feedback since you've created this site.

-> I've tried many times to make web-sites, with my most accomplished one reaching 115 members with 17,000+ posts. that was a good 3/4 years ago, and I can't seem to regain any members 0_o

So I was wondering, how did you gain such a fan-base for this site? Did you plan it with some friends....etc

X_X Please help. I'd like to finally get some information, as they'd say, 'directly from the horses mouth'.

Well, we've pretty much just sat it out XD In the way of advertising i dont think Kitmitsu has done all that much except pick a couple of pretty good affiliates (quality over quantity :P) and his SEO is pretty good.

Also, not just saying this :P But if you look around, im my honest opinion this is the best site for FFXIII info. Kitmitsu tried hard to add alot of detail and all that into the content so id say the quality of your main site obviously helps. And on top of that he got a pretty good domain name.

Also out of interest, what site did you used to run? :p

Now i think about it we didnt do much at all in the way of planning really :P Like Nero said I havent actually done any proper advertising except finding a few affiliates. This is the first site I've actually made but I've had a little staff experience on forums before (Nero's FF forum a few years ago).

I think the main reason this site is doing pretty good for itself is that its actually specificly about an upcoming game. Many other sites cover all Square-Enix content which first of all is almost impossible to cover and secondly theres already hundreds of them doing it. I think the reason AdventChildren.net did so well was because everyone likes FFVII and everyone was looking forward to Advent Children. Because my content is specific to the FFXIII compilation its not too much to work on but its enough to keep everyone happy.

If i had another chance I probably would have tried harder at it and got the site up quicker with better coding and SEO but its okay for a first try :P The first people to join were my friends who helped start it up (and forced me to hurry) and im not sure it would have been as succesful without them.

Well, I hosted an RPG Domain called 'Mage Dreams', but if you heard a few years back, the 'Ezboard hack' destroyed all threads, members and basically the entire community, and all funding in the Commnuity Chest (Which was pretty hard to gain). After since, because all e-mails were wiped, I've never been able to regain the numbers.

What your saying is Gospel, and I really should have known it. The main reason I joined this site, 1. The layout caught my eye. 2. It was different.

Your right in saying there are hundreds, maybe more, of the same dribble of FF content. Basically its just different mangment, and since I know near to nothing on your given FF, guess it seriously did interest me.

Out of interest, was it your orignal interest in FFXII that made you make this site, or that you knew it was more unique?

I had always wanted to setup a site about a game but if you dont set it up when its announced its hard to get vistors. Thats why i jumped on the opportunity with FFXIII. Its a game me and alot of people are going to look forward to and i knew alot of people would want information on it :)

Pretty much. Guides, FMV's, Soundtracks etc are what I have in mind. Horray for copywrite law loopholes!

I dont think i'd go that far :P If anyones desperate enough to get it illegally they can get it off torrents. Also i dont know if its easy to rip Blu-Ray discs or not either :S
