Who do you think Aerith loves more: Zack or Cloud?

SO who do you think aerith loves more Cloud or Zack??? personally i think its Cloud because you can see in Advent Children she has lines that kinda makes you think that she loves him more or cares for him more but maybe when crisis core comes out we will see if she loves zack more. Any other thoughts?

Aerith was never meant for Cloud. She fell in love with Zack, but since Zack died it was never meant to be. However, it was fulfilled in the form of

Cloud, since Cloud inherits Zack's memories and his everything, including the Buster sword.

People may understand better why Aerith was set up by the developers to be killed, and both the most important influences and closest friends sacrificed themselves to save Cloud. Aerith was more of a close friend, someone who changed his life, guided him when he needed a direction. They had a special bond, but it wasn't love.

Since Aerith died, whether there may have been a future between the Cloud and herself is now non-existant. Cloud is as dense as any guy is, and even moreso when it is right in his face. Yes, Tifa *should* be the one for him. However, that is not the case also.

I stand by the fact that Aerith loved Zack for a partner, but loved Cloud as a friend as well.

I'd like to say I don't care cause I hate the *****, but so I don't get a spanking I'm gonna have to say Zack as well after having played Crisis Core. She didn't seem as serious with Cloud, more playful in a way and...well motherly almost. I'm sure she loved him, but she probably wasn't in love with him.

Well i think we can all agree that aerith loved cloud but their is still debate if she was in love with him.

And just so that this post will not be undermined as flamming, I would like to add that she has shown neither of them respect by two-timing the two, actually not simultaneously. But it is evident that she got over Zack quick enough to prove that there were no true feelings directed towards him.
Also, I wouldnt necessarily count CC since the whole scenario was slapped in merely to shut so called Aerith-fans up, as to make up for the "poignant" effects of her death upon many loyal "hearts" and her "sad" tragedy.

Hence, I'd say Cloud though a large portion of it came from motherly approaches apart from the occasionally flirtatious comments ("Protect me Cloud"). But I agree with AT23 that there was a bond between them.

I think she was in love with Zack because she often said things like she wanted to spend more time together, they built a wagon of flowers, she wrote him 89 letters which 88 of them were given to Tseng so that he would give them to Zack...I mean, Cloud did get a date but as she says in the original at some point, she said Cloud reminded her of Zack...so maybe she did find friendship with Cloud but she was closer also because he reminded her of someone she did fall in love with but died...and after hearing nothing from him for 4 years.

If you played Crisis Core, you would know why.
In FFVII, there are really not many romantic interactions between Aeris and Cloud, in fact, there could be none depending on how you play the game. Aeris did have romantic feelings for Cloud probably because he initially reminded her of Zack. Cloud was very upset about Aeris' death, but so were the other characters in the game, so was I and most of the people I know who have played the game! Of course you'd be upset if a close friend were killed right before your eyes while you had a chance to save him/her but failed to. If that happend to me, it would be on my conscience forever, too.
On the other hand, in Crisis Core there are so many things that suggest their (Aeris and Zack) mutual feeling for each other.

Zack buying Aeris a ribbon which she wears after all those years.
Zack building Aeris flower wagons and helping her sell flowers.
Aeris calling Zack and writing him all those letters.
Zack trying to get back to Midgar to meet Aeris knowing Shinra is searching for him.
Very romantic, if you ask me.
Zack even asked Cloud to take care of Aeris before he died. I think that's what upset Cloud even more about Aeris' death - even though he was still amnesic at the time Aeris died, in his deep subconscious he knew that he failed not only Aeris but also Zack.

Zack and Aerith are the perfect pairing (next to Lucrecia and Vincent ^___^), and in Crisis Core both look so... normal in the way they handle each other :lol:

I think she loves Cloud not only because of FFVII and AC but because of how the games and movie convey the feelings of the characters, which is obviously based on how Japanese express the feelings of love to themselves, also if you guy's do a little research on the internets you'll see that it's obvious that Aerith loves Cloud.

and my reasons:
1- In the date scene she says she wants to meet the real Cloud, which means that she knew that Cloud wasn't just a Zack clone.

2- "Maiden who travels the planet" is official not only because it was printed in a "OFFICIAL" Ultimania guide, it was also never told that it wasn't unofficial, and it was approved as canon by SQUARE so i don't know why people say it isn't.

3- From interviews to actual japanese people in which all of them unanimously say that Clorith is the official pairing, and some of them were tifa fans and Zack fans, even they say it's Clorith all the way.

4- Even on other games and the movie it's Cloud an Aerith, like:
“FF TACTICS ----> Cloud and Aerith together
FF7-their story…they even have a date
CREDITS KH1 ----> Cloud and Aerith together
KH2 ----> Cloud and Aerith Promise
CREDITS AC ----> Aerith alone and Cloud driving off to see her

5- Even after playing CC i think it's Clorith because what i see in CC it's the story of a first love between two people, yeah Zack died and he said for Cloud to take care of Aerith but that doesn't mean that Cloud only liked her because of that and in FFVII and AC that is quite obvious.

6- In the original draft of the game, Barret, Aeris and Cloud were the only playable charcters! That says it right there, Tifa was added to the game later while Aeris was in it since the start.

7- Aeris is the one paired up with Cloud in all the artwork, there's even one of him with Nanaki, but none of him with Tifa.

8- Aeris is Cloud's default date, not Tifa. You have to go out of your way to be mean to Aeris to date Tifa.

9- talking about first loves like Zack was Aerith's first love we can also say that Tifa was Cloud's first love but that didn't stop him from falling in love with Aerith and Aerith with him.

10- Zerith is a canon relationship, but in the past... just like RinoaxSeifer. The FFVII Compilation Ultimania even says that Zack was Aerith's first love, not her only love. Even Nojima implies that he regards Zack and Aerith's relationship as nothing more than a crush.

Well this is what I think and i was a Cloti fan but after seeing AC and playing CC and reading what was on the internet and forums and all the discussions I think even more strongly that Aerith's true love is Cloud

nut srsly, when i was playing crisis core i didnt feel her love to him. Maybe she liked to spend time with him, see his face but... She didnt really be so sad when he died. I mean, after the game you see her going along the road with a basket full of flowers and she was smiling. She doesnt look like a miserable girl, who has lost her reason for living...
And what about cloud? He loved her, not she.

I almost never get into love stories,but when i played crisis core(i never played ff7 for ps1) i thought that the relationship between Zack and aerith was the most amazing story ever implemented into any videogame or movie. How they acted with eachother, it was pure, their relationship was based on what every relationship should be based on. They just fit together. If any human could dream up better characters and story like the story in final fantasy crisis core i would not believe it. To make me, a 15 year old, actually care so much about two people who don't exist and motivate me to go and find a girl like aertih its crazy the creators have amazing talent>_<.Ps.
