No one knows. Please dont make topics with the title like this, I thought you'd found the trailer. >_<

Kitmitsu

Yeah I thought he found a new one too :P With the previous trailer they gave us a date it would be added to the site about 1 week before it was released through the Square-Enix Members mailing list. If they choose to add the Jump Festa trailer to the Square Enix Members site like they did with the E3 one they'll probably send us an email notifying us beforehand.

This is a wild shot in the dark but the last trailer took about 7 months to be released to the public after it was first shown. So a completly random ETA could be around about June - July.

i hope it doesnt and gets released earlier but who knows

I doubt theyd show the same trailer two years in a row, they'll have something new by then :P Or E3 at least, I hope.

Kitmitsu
Feb 20 2007, 06:09 PM
Lets hope they do. Square do seem to give us something new every game show however little it is. At least we don't have to deal with no contact from the developers for months or even years on end like with Resident Evil 5.

Then we relate. if it is something to do with Final Fantasy, Kingdom hearts, or some sort-of anime I like, then sometimes I just can't wait as long as I usually can do when it comes to patience.

4 real just show some images of the guy with the white hood atleast

Misschoco

isnt the person with the white hood a female/heroine

Terros

It's unclear, the person who saw it said they couldn't tell. If it is a girl I hope it's not the heroine.

Misschoco
May 14 2007, 04:35 PM
If it is a girl I hope it's not the heroine.

for what reasons?do you oppose them being against each other:blink:

Terros
May 14 2007, 11:55 PM
That and it doesn't seem to make that much sense to me. Why would she be called the heroine if Storm is the hero? Would that not make her the villain?

Ultima Star
May 15 2007, 12:51 AM
Um...that's very logical. If she opposes Storm then she's the bad one.
And...if she is the bad one then I hate her for opposing Storm.
How could u ever opposed to a guy like that? OMG
Yeah, Terros is right, she is the villian the bad one. and I hate her XD

Terros
May 15 2007, 01:12 AM
Yes, until I know more about this "she-he" I think shim's the villian.

Here is a discription of the new trailer:

The trailer opens with the words, "This is a fantasy based on reality," before cutting to a car moving at high speeds along the freeway in a futuristic city. Riding in the backseat of that car was a spiky-haired, pensive-looking young man, clad completely in black leather. The car he rode in was being accompanied by a pair of cars of the same make and model, but other than the trio, the streets were empty. The trailer then cut to a wide angle shot of a building that looks a lot like a museum, accompanied by a quote from William Shakespeare: "There is nothing either good or evil, but thinking makes it so."

Inside the building, sitting on a throne of sorts with his eyes closed, is our sullen-looking hero. After a few moments, he notices something is amiss, opens his eyes, and heads outside the building, where we see the building is completely beset by troops looking to do him harm. As he calmly walks down the stairs, a few troops open fire with their automatic rifles, but the bullets harmlessly bounce off an invisible, perhaps telekinetic, shield he controls. After he lets them spray some more lead his way, he leaps into the air and summons, oh, around 20 nasty-looking swords out of thin air. Grabbing one, he bull-rushes headlong into the crowd of enemies, slashing and slicing his way through the faceless soldiers. At one point, he wedges his sword through a soldier's arm, twisting so that the arm is turned backward; as the soldier continues to fire his weapon, our hero guides the soldier so that the spray of bullets hits the soldier's surrounding comrades.

Perhaps bored with the simplicity of the opposition, our dour hero teleports up the steps again, when he notices soldiers rappelling down the side of the building. In an instant, he's teleported to the face of the building itself, slicing ropes and stabbing bad guys as he zips and ports from spot to spot, or uses his sword as a spring to hurl himself higher up the side of the building.

Back inside the museum, the throne we saw near the beginning is engulfed by magical symbols and bathed in a pure white light. As the main character returns to his seat, we see a robed figure who looks like he's none to happy with our hero's exploits. As the trailer ends, both characters have cast some impressive-looking spells as they look to face each other down.

While the origins of the robed figure, the spiky-haired butt-kicker, and the soldiers remain a mystery, it's clear from this trailer that Versus XIII is going for a dark and violent (in some cases, even bloody) look, much more so than the bright and colorful action in Final Fantasy XIII. We're curious to learn more about these characters, the world they inhabit, and the gameplay that will comprise this project in the coming months. We'll be bringing you all the latest information on Final Fantasy Versus XIII as it becomes available.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
See? The white cloak figure COULD BE the "heroine". Both of them think they're doing the right thing.
She could be the villian and the versus Guy could also be as bad as her.

I believe that the whole story will focus on that quote from Shakespeare.

Wait... I heard somebody said that in the new trailer, whenever the Versus Guy teleports, his hair changes from blue to white ( O__O ...wtf...)
In addition, whenever he uses his power, his eyes change colour as well.

I really guy with white hair... but the 3 brothers from FF7: AC are enough already TT__TT. The versus Guy looks so weird with white hair ><

Yeah, most likely it will focus around the quote by Shakespeare. just about every Final Fantasy has some meaning to it and this quote may be the meaning to this Final Fantasy.

Like I said analyze the play Hamlet. Hamlet says that line when two of his friends from college show up because they are paid to spy on him by the new king.

That sir is a raincoat.

Anyway a lot of religious people wear robes. European monks and the pope are just an example.

Terros

Let's see, Hamlet is about "revenge" and "indecision." These two themes may play a role in the story.

the themes explored

Hamlet is a tragedy of the "revenge" genre, in which the title character, and two other characters as well, seek revenge for their fathers' deaths. It incorporates other major human themes, including love, justice, good and evil, and most notably, madness.

ruling out madness then i'd say the others were major themes

Terros
May 17 2007, 01:04 AM
Yep, and indecision, don't forget that, Hamlet is a Prince who can't make up his mind. He can't decide what it is he should do, while everyone else around him knows exactly what they want/need to do.

true

'theres no good or bad but thinking makes it so' putting this into practice..storm could have an inner conflict over his actions

Terros
May 17 2007, 04:33 PM
Exactly. Therefore he may try not to think about certain things.

possibly meaning why he had a emotionless expression(by that his face was neutral)in the trailer

Terros
May 18 2007, 01:11 AM
Exactly, that's what I was thinking, he puts on a "mask" to hide his thoughts.

XxFeaRLeSsxX
May 18 2007, 02:20 AM
So he is indecisive, has a conflicted inner self and hide his expressions awfully well... I dunno about the indecisive part, but I definitely go with the other two :P

Terros
May 18 2007, 12:35 PM
Perhaps, he's indecisive about what it is he truly wants to do. Remember we're kinda under the impression he's a teen-young adult not quite ready for this "job".

he is soley ready for the job which is evident in the way he fights and the way he approaches the situation. He doesn't hesitate in approaching the soldiers or killing them so really he isnt indecisive in these decisions

Desi
May 18 2007, 04:00 PM
Terros was saying it as not ready for his job emotionally, I think. He does these actions now that he may later regret when he understands what he truely has done and the impact it has on people and family. Would be pretty nice to go to that nation for a peace talk later on and talk to some of the families of the soldiers your massarced.

well he doesnt really have a choice....kill the soldiers or let them take the crystal okay at first he is decisive...but he could go on later to regret he decisiveness thus being indecisive somehow emotionally after conflicting on his actions

Desi

somehow i think hes stuck between decisions like you guys said. what if he had a decision to destroy what hes guarding or not? that could be a decision he might hav to make in the story.

Terros
May 19 2007, 01:58 AM
Think, if he had a choice he may not choose to fight, but I don't think he does, thus he's indecisive; he can't make up his mind if he should do what he wants, or what he "has" to do.

okay he may be indecisive internally...but the actions he choses to do in the trailer e.g slay all the soldiers with no possible remorse and no hesitation.....then really is he indecisive in this retrospect

Repressed feelings, it's not unheard of in people in his situation. He's trapped in a sense, so he may repress this feeling.

so when he represses his feelings....he forgets about them for the time being..lol am i right?

and when he represses his feelings really his indecisive but hides it with decisiveness which he might or will regret...lol did i make sense
