Well was surfing http://finalfantasyversusxiii.net/ and discovered a similarity..
on this page http://finalfantasyversusxiii.net/final-fantasy-xiii-enemies.php
it explains that "dragon monster with sword" and "Behemoth look alike monster" are 2 differnt monsters.
well i think that is a mistake and actually it is really one monster , but tooken in different camera angless making it look differnt .
it maybe an ordinary monster weilding a sword or do you think the new summons have wepeons available to equip??
here is some evidence i made .. enjoy :D

You could actually be right. I see alot of similarities as well. But because those are probably the only two pics of both "species" it's impossible to tell right now.

I never thought about them being the same monster, but you're right, there are alot of similarities.

Could they be the same species? Um...like lions and tigers are both in the cat family but they're different species of cats?

Watch the TGS trailer again. You see it for a split second. It is the same monster.

Uhm, 3 seconds in. xD
You see her strike a monster, the dark purple one, she spins around with her sword stabbed in the floor and does that stance in the second picture (the lighter one).

I don't believe that they're the same monster, and if they are not, they therefore probably are not Behemoth. Unless Behemoth has several forms or comes in a pair like the Shiva sisters, the patterns on their ear/horn distinguish them from each other. Furthermore, the colors - one being purple-pink, and the other orange-green - enhance the argument that they aren't the same.
It could be that they're just variations of a monster type with slightly different abilities. In FFX, for example, the Sin-Jellies (don't remember the name!) were the same shape with the same features, but different colors and with different elemental types according to their colors.

the colors look slightly different because in one image lighting is striking the monster, and as you can see it is giving off a light....its just the lighting

hmm...if they arent the same monster...yeah, they must be the variation of the same monster~
waaa its sooo irritating when you fight the same monster with diferent color and find out its weakness and all other stuff are diferent XD~~
but i think they are the same =O too short time to show diferent but similar monsters...i guess ^^" im not sure of anything anymore XD

I didn't know at first, because the camera angles made you think it nessacerally wasn't the same monster, but as somebody said looking through the trailer it is the same monster.
Woop!

Right. Like I said I really didn't pay attention to where the trailer was shown. I think I might've downloaded the E3 version and that was what I was looking at. I am so clueless!

I see.
The patterns and the colors are still a bit different, however. I guess the monster can change its appearence slightly.

the patterns look slightly different because of the different angles, and the colors because of the lighting as ive said, Lightning is striking the beast, and the effect gives off a light that reflects on the monster making it look a slightly different color..

this thing looks like it going to be a tough in the game

Mar 15 2007, 07:04 PM
hope its tougher than FFXII one...which was a normal enemy ¬¬
and again, i think its the same monster. Like Xion said, diferent angles and lightning.
sometimes it feels like im playing Digimon....lots of monsters with same design but the colors are diferent so they are considered diferent monster XD

It's been a normal enemy tons of times but yes its strength varies. I can only name a few where it was a boss.

If there is a behemoth, I hope that its a challenging enemy and a gigas. Not some random enemy like in FF12.

Hmm, I don't know, I can't really agree this creature looks too much loke a Behemoth, but I mean, its an insane looking beast, that's for sure!(I mean, completely awesome). I'm hoping its some sort of tough boss, myself, but ten we'll see, won't we? Last time I checked, Behemoths didn't weild swords either. I could be very wrong, but then, wow, basic original FF creature designs have changed! Either way, it looks quite cool and very tough.
I look forward to fighting it already!
