Underrated Games

I think these are all underrated:

-Final Fantasy 8 (PS1)
-Silent Bomber (PS1)
-Live A Live (SNES)
-Rez (PS2)
-Mother 3 (GBA)
-Earthbound (SNES)
-Phoenix Wright series (GBA/DS)
-Beyond Good and Evil (PS2/GC/XBox)

Those are all the ones I can think of at the moment.:)

Really??

In my experience a lot of people absolutely hate FF8! I've always been under the impression that it's one of the most divisive games in the series - you either love it or despise it. It's always been my favourite in the series, though.

I mentioned Live A Live in my first post - if you have a SNES emulator go check it out, that genuinely is an underrated classic. I started a thread about it in the 'Other Square Enix Games' section of this forum but so far no-one has responded to it!:(

Cant think of many, but probably Genji: Dawn of the Samurai and Genji: Days of the Blade. They aren't perfect games, but I loved Dawn of the Samurai and just completed Days of the Blade and thought it was amazing. :D

I think one of the most underrated games (by the media, not the community) has got to be Ico.
Twas friggen awesome but the media nuked it in the beginning.
Then realizing a few years later how genious the game really is xD

Either you have been living in a cave for quite some time, or your sources have wayyy different opinions than mine.

Underrated by the general gaming audience, I mean. Rez sold poorly and Phoenix Wright did okay, although it is growing in popularity. Both are games that are a hard sell to the mass market EA Sports buying public.

Which leads me on to:

When it was first released in the UK Ico was highly praised by all the decent games magazines/websites - it got great scores and was an industry favourite. Again, the general gaming audience didn't buy it in large numbers, but it has become something of a cult classic, and personally I can't wait for the next game from the Ico team on PS3.
Sony have confirmed that the Ico team have a PS3 game in development but have not released any details about it. However, if it is as good as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, it should be amazing.
