I recently got a paintshop program and Im slowly but surely learning the tricks and trade of it.

I use something I call a "set". These sets are just a collection of pictures or whatever of images ive made. Usually 5-6 per set.

heres what ive made thus far...

Set 1

The Priest

This is my first request and first signature Ive ever made. Very new to the program but it worked out very well.

Ovan avatar

Ovan Sig
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/7931/ovansign2fb0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

There was alot more to this but it was way to confusing to the eyes. So I went simple and basic with them.

Kingdom Hearts 3 avatar and sig

The KH3 sig used to be very blue and glossy. But I wanted to make a literal glass button out of it. So I did some fiddling around and it came out really well.

Currently my problems with the program is that it doesnt (or i havent seen) many ways to alter the text. But hey im sure theres a way.

Need as much critiques as I can get so I will become better :D.

Set 2

This isnt quite done yet. Im trying out different marbling techniques as well as some forms of geometery filters.

Im still trying to figure out how to kill the white negative space >.> because deleting it isnt fixing the problem XP

White edges does weaken the impression.

Use a smooth brush, blur, or mark the arena around the figure and then shrink the selection. Try to find the tool.

The last one is the best one. Maybe not such a good idea to use another font as the text shadow, buts thats your taste.

Ill suggest you adjust some of the levels for Ovan sig to create more contrast.

What image is that in KH3?

Looks pretty cool. I like the last one the most. Some of them, like Enedok said, have jagged white edges that aren't really pleasing to the eye; like he said, brush over it or blur it to fix it.

I like most of it, but I think you need some work with text. Sometimes the text doesn't go very well with the rest of it, because of either the colour or the font.

Good job with the effects though ^^

EDIT

The negative space still wont go away even with it saved as gif or png.

I'll comment on the rest later but as for the white negative space --

In photoshop, you delete the space that you want off so that it's transparent. Then you save it as a png since is supports transparency -- gif can work too but it's a gamble with quality.

EDIT: I just realized that you might have realized that... LOL. It's just the browser that you're using. It's fine on my firefox... you could always try gif if you want it to work on IE6 and such.

The red one is nice graphic design. :) Nice details. Perhaps implementing the glossy effect with the image underneath it more. I don't see any negative white space - I'm using IE7.

The first one - "The Priest" - is kind of disturbing o_O
